General Profile
Mitchell practises largely in commercial, employment, estates and common law with a particular focus on:
- Unfair dismissal, general protections, workplace discrimination and underpayment claims
- Trusts, Equity, Probate and Part IV proceedings
- Contractual and consumer law disputes.
He also regularly acts for and advises employers in occupational health and safety matters.
He has appeared unled in both jury and judge alone trials; and in the Court of Appeal.
Before coming to the Bar, he was Associate to Judge Misso at the County Court of Victoria.
Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and was recognised as the most outstanding law graduate. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, has lectured at Victoria University and completed a Master of Laws.
