Kim practises in the area of criminal law (including IVO matters and bail applications) and in the area of family law (in both financial and parenting matters).
Kim has a broad range of experience appearing in contested matters in the Federal Circuit Court, the County Court, the Supreme Court, VCAT, the Magistrates’ Court, and the Children’s Court.
Prior to being called to the Bar, Kim worked with the Department of Health and Human Services as a solicitor on the corporate team. She was responsible for drafting and advising on Department contracts and litigious disputes. Kim also appeared in litigious matters on behalf of the Department.
Kim was an Associate Solicitor for 4 years, during which time she conducted numerous cases in general commercial litigation, corporate insolvency and bankruptcy. Kim also appeared in family law and criminal law matters. She has particular skills in the negotiation and resolution of litigious disputes.
Kim read with David Colman. Her senior mentor is Peter Chadwick QC. Her junior mentor is Natalie Sheridan-Smith.
