Keir brings a unique set of skills and experience to his practice as a commercial barrister. Before entering the law Keir worked in the IT & Telecommunications sector as a manager and business owner for 10 years after completing a Bachelor of Business at Monash University in 1993.
In 1995, Keir co-founded and was CEO of a successful start-up company, Internet Business Solutions P/L specialising in internet security and firewalls. As CEO, Keir oversaw the company’s growth from start-up stage to a successful small business. The company developed the ‘Fortress Firewall’ which subsequently won a number of industry awards.
Before joining the Victorian Bar Keir worked as Associate to the Hon. Justice Redlich in the Victorian Court of Appeal. During his associateship, Keir gained an unparalleled insight into the inner workings of the justice system and the judicial decision making process. Keir retains a strong interest in appellate advocacy and has appeared in a number of appeals as junior counsel in both the state and federal jurisdiction.
Keir is a member of the Victorian Bar Duty Barristers Scheme Committee and volunteers as a Duty Barrister at the Magistrates, County and Supreme Courts.
Keir has a commercial practice with a focus on appellate advocacy. While at the Victorian Bar he has built on the knowledge and experience gained as Associate to the Hon. Justice Redlich JA to establish a practice as a junior appellate advocate.

As Associate to Justice Redlich, Keir assisted his Honor with legal research, judgment writing, editing and general administrative tasks. Keir further developed his research and analytical skills during his time as Associate to Justice Redlich. These skills have proven to be invaluable in his work as a barrister at the Victorian Bar.

Keir was responsible for managing relationships with the company’s key product resellers including; Telstra, Optus and Hutchinsons Telecommunications. He provided support for the marketing activities of the key resellers to maximize product sales. Keir was primarily involved with providing product training, trade show demonstrations and assistance with marketing materials.

During his Cadetship Keir gained practical management skills under the supervision of experienced managers. He also attended night school studying an Associate Diploma in Marketing at Moorabbin TAFE as a requirement of his Cadetship. During his time with the company Keir worked in aftermarket sales, export and distribution. At the time the company employed over 2000 workers at its Bentleigh site and was primarily involved in designing, developing and manufacturing automotive brake and clutch parts for the domestic and overseas markets.
