Chris practices in commercial law and public and regulatory law.
His commercial practice covers contractual disputes, property and employment law.
Chris also has broad experience in planning and environmental law including in town planning and regulatory compliance.
His other areas of regulatory law include advising and appearing in gambling and liquor licensing, building industry and environmental regulation matters.
Chris represents corporations, individuals, and government clients. He regularly appears for both statutory authorities and the defence in enforcement proceedings and related prosecutions.
Chris has appeared in the Supreme Court of Victoria, County Court, Magistrates’ Court, VCAT, Fair Work Commission, Federal Court and in disciplinary proceedings before various boards and panels.
Chris has also acted in some family law trials in the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court and child protection proceedings in the Children’s Court.
Prior to coming to the bar he was a Senior Solicitor in the Government and Workplace Relations branch at the Victorian Government Solicitor’s Office. Before that he was a solicitor at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
